Telekom mashup – and new crazy laws

well things happen and who says something – but I think its kind of weird that german “Deutsche Telekom” is now doing massive!! TV and print ads telling us to buy music in the internet, rethink our behaviour (hey, we never thought of it before) of buying cds – now it comes – cause cd cause heavy environmental harm so we do a good thing not buying them for the environment!!

well – telekom gives a shit about environment, they make money with all kind of downloads, including the illegal ones to a great percentage! that money now is invested into changing our attitudes not to buy cds. how absurd is this? now those who buy the music are the bad guys? i mean people buy less cds anyway, but if they do, it helps the music industry a lot and still some people like cds as a gift or enjoy cd quality over mp3 sound.

another story  i find weird: normal electrical “bulbs” get forbidden at least in production and we will be forced to buy the new energy saver bulbs – but experts arent sure if they are maybe very toxic. check this – a radio interview which i heard!

q: erm, i use bulbs to lighten a house floor but the new energy saver bulbs take too long to get bright

a: thats normal, but sure soon there will be new energy saver bulbs that light up faster, but sure theyre a bit more expensive but thats a cool investment!

my comment: ah yes, get yourself a real treat and enjoy worlds finest energy saver bulbs for your convenience! you really deserved it!

q: erm, i use bulbs to lighten up a house floor but they keep failing after about a month cause they cant stand getting switched off and on so often so shortly

a: thats normal, but sure soon there will be new energy saver bulbs that are more stable, but sure theyre a bit more expensive but thats a cool investment!

comment: wtf!??

Honestly Im scared. I thought some more reasonable laws are what we need. But it seems all new things serve only one purpose: to bring money to large companies or the economy. Thats nothing new, but it goes far more deep than expected. I think our problem is that a worldwide economy is not really controllable by such a small animal as a human being, no matter how cool it is to sit in front of the internet. A society used to be controllable at least here in West Germany within their borders. Now caring about what happens within the borders of a country seems to be “small thinking”. But in reality, our society is less under control than ever. Too many kids shooting, and yesterday i read about someone regularily shooting at autobahn cars from a hidden place. Apart from that my car license plate was stolen and when i got a new one they told me: we ‘ve been doing this all day. Are the fuel prices that high again?

I dont know if the world has heard about the german investement program: if you destroy your old car and buy a new one, you get 2500 euros from the government.  Everyone here seems to find this normal. On the other hand if you meet a policeman in the city he is most likely busy making money by blaming someone who parked wrong (cause parking is illegal everywhere except if you pay). A month ago I was at a police station cause someone misused my credit card. That took 3 hours and during that time I could watch another policeman writing a report for about an hour about how he accuses a man who was talking on his phone in the car, which is forbidden. It took him 20 minutes to describe exactly what he has been watching and where the cellphone was between head and shoulder…..

Nice and thought provoking read Heiner!

Advertising against buying cds could be not necessarily a bad thing, if they as well advertise legal ways to buy music, in order to support us, artists. Cds are dying anyway. But if they just say don’t buy cds and save our enviroment it’s just plain stupid.
